My name is Maribel Calderon (La Sra. Maribel), and I am delighted to introduce myself as your child’s Dual Language Teacher. I have been part of the Perth Amboy School District since 2003, serving as a substitute teacher, paraprofessional, and professional aide while completing my bachelor’s degree. I later earned my teaching certificate (K–5) from Kean University and my Master’s Degree in Education Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Since 2012, I have had the privilege of teaching in the Dual Language Program. I am passionate about supporting children from diverse cultural backgrounds, helping them grow academically and socially while fostering a love of bilingualism and cultural appreciation.

This year, I am also fortunate to work alongside Carolina López Mejía, my paraprofessional. This is our second year working together, and Carolina brings nearly nine years of valuable experience in the district. Together, we are committed to creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where every child feels valued. I look forward to an exciting school year filled with growth, learning, and new opportunities for your children. Thank you for allowing me to be part of their journey.
