• I have been teaching special education for 17 years.   I have a certification in Early Childhood Education (Pre-K through 3rd grade) and also as a Teacher of the Handicapped.  I have a masters in special education from Kean University.  I have experience in both an inclusion setting as well as a self-contained classroom.  I was honored with the award for " Teacher of the Year"  for the 2010-2011 school year.  My philosophy is that all children are capable of learning regardless of their disability.  I am an advocate for students and believe in the least restrictive environment for all children.  A child's best advocate is their parents, so always consider yourself the most important asset in their learning.  I believe in shaping behavior so that children have a better opportunity to meet their potential.  I like to have good communication with parents and believe that a team approach is the best way to see progress.
