• MATH CLASS RULES/ EXPECTATIONS

    • ARRIVE ON TIME AND BE PREPARED FOR WORK. Students are required to check the in class board agenda or google classroom daily for assignments/ homework/ important information.

    • BRING ALL LEARNING MATERIALS WITH YOU. A pencil, 5-subject notebook, (for Math only) and folder must be brought to class daily. No pens allowed in Math.

    • BE CONSIDERATE OF THE RIGHTS AND FEELINGS OF OTHERS. DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIORS AND CONVERSATIONS DURING CLASS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

    • During Instructional time please no eating or drinking. (Water bottles are allowed)

    • All cell phones must be placed into the blue holder and left on the corner of the students desk.

    ***Failure to follow any of the above rules will result in a classdojo message or call home. If the behavior has not changed thereafter, the Dean or Vice Principal will be notified and disciplinary actions will take place. ***

    GRADING SYSTEM:

    Assessments (tests, quizzes, projects) - 60%

    Classwork (worksheets, group work, note taking, participation) - 35%

    Homework - 5% (will count as a grade) assigned Monday - Thursday

    • Late homework will receive 1/2 credit for any work turned in 1 day late. After that, students will receive a missed homework grade for the assignment. (This does not apply if a student is absent.)

    For each day a student is absent, they will have 48 hours to complete the missed assignment. It is the student’s responsibility to check the missed work folder for missed assignments when he/she returns. In the event of a long term absence, arrangements can be made to complete assignments.

    • Daily homework assignment (M-Th)

    • Weekly Mathia online assignments (due by the end of the week)
    • Daily note taking

    • Weekly quizzes

    • Quarterly Projects

    • Bi-weekly Quizzes or Tests

    We will be Carnegie Math as our math program.

    Students are required daily to work on an online program in Carnegie math called Mathia, to complete assignments given by the teacher.
